Day 3: What are you doing here?

Destination – Migdal, Capernaum, Jordan River, Jesus Trail, Upper Galilee

Verses of the day:

The Jesus Road

Isaiah 62:1 - For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
till her vindication shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch.

Isaiah 62:6-7 - I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night.
You who call on the Lord,
give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem
and makes her the praise of the earth.

We have encountered several groups of Israelis who stop us and wonder what we are doing here? When we share with them that we came out of our love for Israel and the Jewish people, they just are amazed and overwhelmed. They break out an applause. They thank us profusely. It appears that in the midst of challenging difficulty, we are like a breath of fresh air.

Compared to what Isrrael is usually like, the place is desolate.

Here is the second section of scripture for Isaiah 62:

Verse 2 - The nations will see your vindication, and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name
that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.

Verse 3 - You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord’s hand,
    a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

Verse 4 - No longer will they call you Deserted,
or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah;
for the Lord will take delight in you,
and your land will be married.

Verse 5 - As a young man marries a young woman,
so will your Builder marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,
so will your God rejoice over you.
